Symptoms of High Blood Pressure

Unfortunately, the reason so many people don't know they have high blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is that there aren't really any clear symptoms of hypertension. However, some high blood pressure sufferers complain of: frequent headaches and dizziness. Therefore, if you even question that you or a loved one has high blood pressure, it is important to monitor your blood pressure regularly. And if you know your blood pressure is too high, you can do something about it TODAY. Keep reading!

Blood Pressure 101

What is blood pressure? Blood pressure is basically the force pushing on the arteries by your blood as it passes through them. Someone with high blood pressure has blood that is putting higher than normal pressure on the arteries. This puts more stress on the body. Hence, the heart has to work so hard to get the blood pumped through those arteries that it can actually enlarge and damage the heart, eventually causing a heart attack, stroke, aneurysm and other heart problems if left untreated. High blood pressure is not something to mess around with!

Causes for High Blood Pressure

What could put you at risk for high blood pressure? There are numerous causes but here is a list of the major ones:
Heredity: If your parents had high blood pressure, you are at risk.
Race: African Americans are most at risk. However, all ethnicities are on a rise.
Gender: Men are more likely than women to have high blood pressure.
Age: As you age, your risk of high blood pressure increases.
Salt Intake: Sodium intake has been linked with high blood pressure sufferers.
Obesity: Being overweight is a huge risk factor for high blood pressure.
Smoking: Smokers will often times be more at risk for hypertension.
A Sedentary Lifestyle: If you are required to sit a lot at your profession... your risk rises.

A Natural Cure for High Blood Pressure

Due to the seriousness of hypertension, doctors do have medications for sufferers. Including: Diuretics, Beta Blockers, ACE Inhibitors, Alpha Blockers and Vasodilators. However, here is the shocking part, as well as costing hundreds to thousands, many of these medications could have the following side-effects: kill nutrients in body, risk of asthma symptoms, speed heart rate, depletion of taste, rashes, cold symptoms, kidney problems, headaches, nausea, weight gain, and growth of hair. Not pleasant! Besides, I thought they were suppose to help hypertension sufferers?

Now the good news! There is an all-natural treatment for high blood pressure. Yes, you can drop points off your blood pressure reading in days! Doctors would agree there are numerous non-pharmaceutical things you can do lower your blood pressure. Start with these...

Do you know about - How Cold is Space?

Causes Cad! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Do you think space, or rather the vacuum, is cold? During my survey on the web during the past few months, it clearly showed that most people would answer yes to that question.

What I said. It isn't outcome that the true about Causes Cad. You look at this article for info on an individual want to know is Causes Cad.

How is How Cold is Space?

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Causes Cad.

Fact is that only matter can have a temperature, which is the speed of its molecules. The faster the molecules in a material move, the warmer that material is. Per definition, an absolute vacuum is a void, nothingness and therefore it cannot have any temperature. In as far as the space of the Universe is an absolute vacuum, that space cannot have any temperature and it is thus not "cold".

However, an absolute vacuum does not really exist; there are molecules whirling around everywhere in space. Actually, some recent theories say that all these molecules whirling around, constitute more mass than all the visible galaxies contain together - it's called "dark matter". Even so, the density of these molecules is so incredibly low, that in practical terms, as far as space technology is concerned, interplanetary space behaves as an absolute vacuum. Even the Moon, that actually does have an atmosphere in the sense that the density of its gas molecules is considerably higher than in "free" space, can yet be seen as an absolute vacuum environment in practical terms for human activity there. This means that the molecules that are there, do not have a measurable contact (convection) heat exchange effect with other materials around and thus a Moon vehicle or base on the Moon can neither be cooled, nor heated by these molecules. The same is valid for space vehicles traveling around in the Solar System; they also have no measurable heat exchange with the molecules moving in the vacuum around.

Even on Mars, that has a well defined atmosphere, such heat exchange effects would not have much significance for human activity there, though it would be noticeable nonetheless. Surely, the air temperature on Mars can locally come up to plus 30 degr. C, but that doesn't mean you would "feel" it, the same as on Earth, because the Mars air is so much thinner. The atmospheric pressure on Mars is just 6 mbar, compared to Earth's atmospheric pressure of 1000 mbar. No industrial "vacuum" pump on Earth could reach such a low pressure and it is yet called a vacuum pump. Hence, in technical terms, also Mars could be seen as a vacuum environment for astronauts, just not an absolute one, as it is on the Moon.

This all means that space, the vacuum, is a perfect temperature insulator for convection heat. The only heat exchange that can be done between bodies in the vacuum is through radiation, because the vacuum lets electromagnetic energy pass through. Very fortunate, so we can get light and warmth from the Sun, all being electromagnetic radiation. The frequency of this radiation is a measure for how much energy it transmits. The higher the frequency, the more powerful the radiation is and usually penetrates deeper into materials. X-rays have a very high frequency and are therefore powerful enough to penetrate our bodies, which for example is used in medical applications. Gamma rays are even more powerful and are generated by decaying atoms - nuclear radiation. Heat radiation is called infra-red, because the color red is the lower frequency limit of what our eyes can see (violet the upper).

Infra-red has a too low frequency for our eyes to see and we feel it as heat instead. Its frequency relates to the temperature of the emitting body, the higher the frequency, the warmer that body is. This causes the so called green-house effect, because certain materials are more transparent for higher than for lower frequencies. The surface temperature of the Sun is 6000 Kelvin and the according frequency can penetrate the Earth's atmosphere. As it hits the ground, most of it gets absorbed and warms up the ground material - ever noticed how hot beach sand can be?

However, the thus generated temperatures are much lower (fortunately) than that of the Sun and the Earth's atmosphere is not transparent for the according lower frequencies and so it warms up, partially by absorbing the energy that the warm ground radiates off and partially through convection heat exchange between air and ground material molecules and part by what it absorbs itself directly. The same principle is valid for glass and that's why your car gets so hot inside, when it is parked in the sun. Likewise the temperature in green houses rise above surrounding air temperatures, as is the purpose of those.

The warm atmosphere of the Earth radiates off heat into space at a far lower frequency than what it received from the Sun and this heat disperses into space, without "warming" it up. Space, the vacuum, cannot have a temperature and so the heat energy that the Earth's atmosphere radiates off, disperses into larger and larger volumes of "nothingness". The Earth is thus not cooled by any "cold" space, because that would require convection, which the vacuum cannot provide.

Likewise, the distant planets are very cold, because they receive very little energy from the Sun, not because they are surrounded by "cold" space. Any object in "dark" space, not receiving any heat, nor generating any itself, will become extremely cold, as it radiates off whatever little it still has. How cold, we'll see at the end of this article.

The average temperature of the Earth is determined by a balance between received and given off heat energy. The atmosphere's temperature stabilizes there where both amounts are the same. Hence, the Earth gives off as much energy as it receives from the Sun; nothing is "consumed", or "used" as many erroneously think. The same is valid for a green-house and you car parked in the sun; the inner temperature stabilizes at a value where energy balance is reached.

Of course, not all the solar energy that hits the Earth is absorbed by it. Much of it is reflected back into space. From the rest, the atmosphere absorbs a part itself and lets through a part to reach the surface. As long as the properties of the atmosphere do not change, the Earth's global temperature will not change, but if we bring about noticeable changes with our emissions of whatever gases, anything can happen. The Earth can become cooler or warmer. Today the talk is about global warming, but there are scientists who argue for a risk of global cooling also. In the end, nobody knows for sure, because the heat household of the atmosphere is a very complicated system, with many unknown parameters.

However, if it ever would happen that we release so much heat from fuels, that it becomes a noticeable part of the Earth's total energy household, we would indeed warm up Earth by it. I don't think that ever will happen, it's just a theoretical exercise, but we do cause heat-pollution locally, warming up waters around large power plants that are cooled by them and it affects the biological systems there.

On Earth, cars, greenhouses and whatever other structures, are heavily cooled by the surrounding air, especially if there is wind blowing around them. Not so on the Moon for example. If you see science-fiction designs of huge glass cupolas on the Moon and space-crafts with large glass windows all around, you are basically looking at ovens. If exposed to sunlight, they would self-destruct by overheat, unless practically all of the solar heat is reflected (not absorbed !) by such glass, or whatever transparent material. Even then, such habitats are additionally heated by the body heat of people in there and by the power supplies to run technical systems (all energy decays to heat at ambient temperature - Second Law of Thermo). All that heat must be radiated off also.

How cold can an object in "dark" space become? Many say 3 Kelvin, which is the "temperature" of the cosmic background radiation (actually 2.7 K). This radiation is assumed to be a remnant of the Big-Bang and its frequency corresponds with 3 Kelvin. Many think erroneously that this is the temperature of space, but that is of course not true. An object in deep, deep dark space can become colder than 3 Kelvin, but the Second Law of Thermo says it can never become 0 Kelvin, because 0 Kelvin is not a temperature - it is the absence of it, "nothingness", a void. Matter as we know it, cannot exist at 0 Kelvin,

However, this is not agreed upon by all scientists. Look for the "Third Law of Thermodynamics" in a search engine and you will find it - I personally do not agree with that "law".

The most coarse of the signs of heart disease is angina, or chest pain. It can be in the form of pain or a tightness in the chest are that may or may not radiate into the arms, neck, ears and back and many times it is confused with acid indigestion. Those experiencing a burning pain in their chest may believe it to be caused by something they ate and not one of the signs of heart disease and fail to seek urgency curative care.

Other signs of heart disease can contain a shortness of breath, a rapid heartbeat a feeling of infirmity along with nausea and sweating, even if the someone feels cold. Most urgency curative workers would rather apprise someone they have indigestion than have the signs ignored and wind up with a fatality.

Make Others Aware Of Symptom.

When a someone believes they are showing the signs of heart disease, it could be a prelude to a heart attack. someone should be apprised of the feelings and immediate curative care should be sought. Those having a heart attack may caress a discomfort or pain the chest with the pain radiating to the throat, neck and commonly to the left arm. They may also experiencing a burning that resembles acid indigestion along with a feeling of being full.

Irregular heartbeat is another of the signs of heart disease, and may also indicate a heart attack, along with anxiety and strangeness breathing. When a someone experiences any of the signs of heart disease or a heart attack, time is of the essence in seeking pro help. A delay in getting to the urgency room can cause major curative complications and even death.

While many habitancy are able to survive a heart attack due to the quick response of noteworthy curative personnel, knowing the signs of heart disease can often stop a heart attack before it hits. If someone has these indications, they should apprise their physician so tests can be conducted to confirm or deny the signs of heart disease are real or imagined.

Common Vitamins and over the counter products can help with Arteriosclerosis such as Vitamin E, Isotretinoin and Sytrinol.

Vitamin E improves circulation and promotes normal blood clotting. Vitamin E is also known to help the red blood cells to live longer and keep them from breaking down too soon.

Isotretinoin, a Vitamin A derivative, is an oral drug that is commonly taken once or twice a day with food for 4 to 6 months. Isotretinoin has been shown to be very productive in treating severe acne and can whether enhance or clear over 80% of patients studied. Isotretinoin has a much longer effect than anti-bacterial treatments and will often cure acne for good. It reduces the size of oil glands and much less oil is produced and as a effect the growth of propion bacteria is reduced.

Sytrinol are known to be useful in helping allege a healthy cholesterol level in the body by reducing triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein (Ldl) levels.

Do you know about - Common Cardiac Arrhythmia - Atrial Fibrillation

Causes Of Afib! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Abnormal heart rhythm or cardiac arrhythmia is most commonly caused by atrial fibrillation: atrial fibrillation involves the two larger, upper chambers of the heart and fibrillation is the medical term used to describe "quivering" of the affected muscles of the heart.

What I said. It isn't outcome that the true about Causes Of Afib. You check out this article for facts about anyone wish to know is Causes Of Afib.

How is Common Cardiac Arrhythmia - Atrial Fibrillation

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Causes Of Afib.

Before we take a more detailed look at atrial fibrillation, we must first understand a little about the structure of the heart to better understand what is happening with this condition and how we treat it.

The heart is composed of four chambers; as we have already said, the two larger chambers, known as atria, sit on top of two smaller chambers known as ventricles and each atrium is connected to the lower ventricle. The atrium's job is to take in blood after it has passed through the lungs and which is then rich in oxygen waiting to be delivered to the rest of the body. The atrium then contracts to force this blood into the lower ventricle. The ventricle is smaller than the atrium but much more powerful and when it contracts, this forces the blood out of the heart and around the body under pressure.

It is the double contraction of the atria followed by the ventricles which forms the typical heart beat we hear as a double thud - "duh-dum".

With a-fib, the regular double-beat becomes uncoordinated and this leads to blood not being transferred to the ventricles when it is supposed to - the blood literally misses the beat of the heart.

The actual cause is usually that the electrical signal which coordinates the heart is disrupted or not passing across the heart as it needs to in order to trigger the contraction of the muscles. Disruption is frequently caused by the electrical signal being drowned out by electrical impulses generated elsewhere by the atria or by the pulmonary system. This creates the arrhythmia or irregular heartbeat and an episode may last for a few moments or for an extended period of time, sometimes for years until it is detected.

Fortunately, a-fib is not usually life threatening but a range of symptoms may present themselves and are not generally pleasant - fainting, palpitations, pain in the chest or more seriously, congestive heart failure. Having atrial fibrillation will lead to a higher risk for other illnesses such as strokes due to blood clots forming from the blood which pools in the atrium due not being transferred fully to the ventricle. In general, those with atrial fibrillation are seven times more likely to suffer a stroke than the general population but other risk factors also need to be taken into account.

Treatment for atrial fibrillation includes medication used to slow or regulate the beat of the heart while a pace maker may be fitted to ensure the electrical signal used to regulate the contractions allows for coordinated contractions. Surgery may be performed to prevent atrial fib from recurring which may be minor (inserting a catheter) or major if the heart or electrical generation is significantly damaged. Those with atrial fib are frequently treated with anti-coagulants such as Warfarin to reduce the risk of blood clotting which causes strokes.

Causes Chf! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Acute congestive heart failure is the term given on the rapid onset of weakening heart function that affects oxygenated blood distribution in the body. Hence, the body tends to get lesser amount of oxygen than what it needs. There are a number of reasons why this occurs in the body like cardiac muscle weakening or stiffness.

Heart problems are also the cause why cardiac muscle weakening occurs in a person. These heart conditions are infections and heart attacks. Once these occur in the body, it would affect the proper functioning of the ventricles in pumping the blood because of weakness termed as systolic dysfunction. Systole is the term given to the contraction or movement of the ventricular muscle that assists blood flow throughout the body.

Diastole on the other hand is when the ventricular muscles relax in order to be filled with blood coming from the atria. However, this function is damaged once some diseases occur in the body but causing it not to relax and be filled with the right amount of blood. Hence, it is also causes the body not to receive the adequate amount of oxygenated blood it needs.

The symptoms of acute congestive heart failure may occur in a numerous part of the body. Since there is not enough amount of oxygen delivered in the body, it affects the kidney functions like normal salt and water excretion. This results to the body retaining more water and causes edema. Edema occurs on the ankle and feet part as well as on the lungs in cases of pulmonary edema. Aside from these parts, even the liver is affected by edema and prevents it from functioning properly. This causes the body to retain the toxins instead of the liver getting rid of it. Other symptoms include the chest pain and breathing problems.

Upon seeing these symptoms in your body, make sure to contact your physician for evaluation and possible workup. In this way, you will know whether you have this problem and get it treated immediately.

Many physicians suggest Ekgs as a preventive-screening tool for those with a house history of heart disease. While a wholesome person does not need an Ekg as a part of an annual exam, many physicians will suggest an Ekg if they have concerns. If a patient complains of chest pain, palpitations or other indicators of heart problems, the doctor will likely suggest an immediate Ekg test. Depending on the severity of the situation, your doctor may refer you to a local testing center immediately or ask you to agenda the next ready appointment.

How is The Meaning of Abnormal Ekg Results

An abnormal Ekg is thought about by comparing the results of your Ekg graph with a suitable or normal heart graph. Spikes and dips within the graph are referred to as P, Qr and Pr and other similar acronyms. normal Ekg readings show a minute flat-dip in in the middle of contractions and relaxations. If these flat-dips are not present, it may be an indication of a more serious problem. normal Ekg readings will have spikes and dips too.

Myocardial defects, heart valve disease, enlargement of the heart, inflammation of the heart, coronary artery disease, and past, pending or impending heart attacks are only a few of the problems that Ekg's can help to detect. The conditions in which the Ekg is performed can also have an impact on the accuracy of the results. Some heart problems are not present all of the time and therefore may not appear in Ekg results. In cases where heart problems are suspected but not detected on the Ekg, a Holter monitor may be recommended. This monitor is worn, regularly for a period of 24 to 48 hours and serves as a type of mini-Ekg test. The patient wears the monitor at home and it continuously records heart activity. Doctors also suggest that the patient be relaxed during the exam because any muscle trembling or contractions can alter the results and produce an inaccurate reading.

Many people are surprised to learn that they have had an abnormal Ekg reading. What is even more surprising is that when presented with abnormal Ekg results, some doctors do not seem concerned. It doe not necessarily mean they are inadequate or uncaring physicians, it is more likely they believe something else has caused the abnormal reading. Most will want to pursue additional testing or someone else Ekg. Sometimes an event as simple as low blood sugar can have an altering affect and produce false Ekg readings. Other times, abnormal Ekgs require additional testing to settle what, if any, problems authentically exist.

A clot getting stuck in a narrowed artery and stopping the blood provide to your heart is the main cause of a heart attack. The only symptoms of heart disease, prior to the formation and lodging of a clot, are due to narrow arteries reducing blood supply. So the preliminary indications of a heart assault are the same as the indications of heart disease.

The strangeness presented by heart disease is that it advances slowly, allowing one to grow accustomed to and adapt to the symptoms without the opinion that they are warning signs of heart disease or a inherent heart attack.

Shortness of breath, chest discomfort and fatigue are the three basic symptoms that become noticeable at first. These symptoms may not all occur at the same time and at the same intervals and will probably won't be very strong at first.

Perhaps one day, as you climb the steps, you feel somewhat short of breath and may attribute that to your age, your stress level, your tiredness or an additional one minor reason.

You might even decide that the best treatment would be to exercise, but all too often you forget about this commitment. It will become more normal to feel breathless after some weeks. You will acclimate to it and begin to not consideration it anymore. This will be the same for any feeling of tiredness or pain. You ordinarily disregard these symptoms and continue to live with them.

Your blood pressure gives the only reliable indication of any heart disease. The symptoms of high blood pressure and heart disease are the same and so your best tool is a blood pressure monitor to check either you have high blood pressure

You don't need to see a doctor to do it either. According to recent studies, by consistently taking your own blood pressure at home rather than at the doctor's office annually or biannually, your results may be more accurate.

If you do not own a monitor, you should get one promptly. If you've got a monitor but aren't using it, then now is the time to start!

Salt Can Cause Water Retention

What I said. It isn't outcome that the real about Causes Chf. You check this out article for home elevators anyone wish to know is Causes Chf.

How is Salt Causes Water Retention

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Causes Chf.

One of the most common causes of water retention is too much salt in your diet.   Too much salt in the diet may cause brief episodes of water retention.  By lowering sodium content in your diet you can reduce your water retention, also known as Edema. You shouldn't completely reduce sodium, but keeping sodium intake at small amounts by avoiding processed foods is often very helpful.  Salt is a natural way to help the body retain water, which it can store and later use; so it's an important element in diets, but should not be overused.

A normal person can consume small or large quantities of salt in the diet without concern for developing salt depletion or retention however some people retain water more easily. The removal of salt from the body is accomplished by the kidneys. The kidneys have a great capacity to control the amount of salt in the body by changing the amount of salt eliminated in the urine. The amount of salt excreted by the kidneys is regulated by hormonal and physical factors that signal whether retention or removal of salt by the kidneys is necessary.

Conditions that Affect Salt in the Body

When the blood flow to the kidneys is decreased by an underlying condition such as heart failure, the kidneys react by retaining salt. This occurs because the kidneys perceive that the body needs more fluid to compensate for the decreased blood flow. A kidney disease that impairs the function of the kidneys also triggers the body to retain salt. In both conditions, the amount of salt in the body increases, which causes the patient to retain water and develop edema.

Ways to Reduce Water Retention

People who experience a disturbance in their ability to normally excrete salt may need to be placed on a diet limited in salt, take a diuretic medication or take a natural supplement such as Capisette.  Diuretics work by blocking the re-absorption and retention of salt by the kidneys, thereby increasing the amount of salt and water that is eliminated in the urine.

Dietary Changes that can help reduce Edema:

Reduce the amount of table salt that you eat. Ask your doctor if you can use salt substitutes. Reduce the amount of salt that you use while cooking. Cook with other seasonings like lemon juice, vinegar, herbs, and pepper.  Eat small, frequent meals if you have swelling in your stomach or abdomen.  Eat a diet that gives you enough protein, calories, and carbohydrates. Ask your doctor or dietician for help choosing the right combination of foods.  Continue to drink the same amount of water and fluids as normal. Your doctor may have you limit this amount if you have severe edema.

Natural Supplement that Help Reduce Edema - Capisette

Whether your swelling is caused by an underlying condition, or simply from sitting or standing too long on a regular basis, Capisette provides you with an effective means to control your edema.

A variety of nutrients have been shown to address the underlying causes of fluid retention, including those found in Capisette. Capisette goes above and beyond replenishing the system with the nutrients it needs to combat fluid retention. By regulating your body's delicate fluid balance with Capisette, your body becomes balanced, and subsequently, helps you to feel normal again.

A few ingredients in Capisette are:

Potassium - One of the three major electrolytes in your body which may be helpful for edema by regulating the flow of fluids into and out of your tissues and cells. Uva Ursi Ext. - Has been used worldwide as a diuretic while also supporting the kidneys and urinary tract. Dandelion Ext.- Has diuretic properties that may be helpful with edema. It is one of the few diuretics that do not create a potassium deficiency. Horse Chestnut - Studies report that horse chestnut may be able to reduce leakage of fluids from the capillaries caused by edema while promoting overall circulatory health. Buchu Ext. - A mild diuretic.

Atrial Fibrillation! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Atrial fibrillation is a heart rhythm that is abnormal. If you have had this problem, like a friend of mine did, it can be kind of scary. You will most likely think that you're having a heart attack. Whats happening is this; The top chamber of your heart is not fully contracting and pushing the blood down to the lower chambers. It quivers. Here are three risk factors that may cause atrial fibrillation.

What I said. It isn't outcome that the actual about Atrial Fibrillation. You read this article for information about a person need to know is Atrial Fibrillation.

How is Atrial Fibrillation - 3 Risk Factors

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Atrial Fibrillation.

1. Smoking - overall, a bad condition decision. I'm sure you're already aware of all the possible problems that can and will arise if you continue to smoke. Raising blood pressure and thickening the blood are just a integrate of things that do happen.

2. Inordinate alcohol consumption. My friend was not a big drinker, but ended up taking a summer job where alcohol was easily accessible and kind of got addicted to the fun atmosphere, forgetting the fact that he was in his early forties and not a youngster anymore. Alot of alcohol consumed in those five months.Alot.

3. The use of stimulant drugs and or caffeine. Again, easily raises the blood pressure. When you're constantly on the run, using these drugs, not slowing down or getting much sleep, it's a bad combination.

Any of these three can trigger atrial fibrillation. The three above mentioned being used all at once, in excession,

for a sure duration of time can be disastrous. Also, depending on your age and your hearts prior condition, which you may not even be aware of, you could be a ticking timebomb.

Do you know about - What Causes Heart Attacks?

Causes Cad! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Heart attacks are one of the major instant killer diseases. But what causes it and how can they be prevented?

What I said. It isn't outcome that the actual about Causes Cad. You see this article for info on anyone wish to know is Causes Cad.

How is What Causes Heart Attacks?

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Causes Cad.

It happens when the supply of blood and oxygen in an area of the heart is blocked, typically due to blockage and a clot in the coronary artery. If the blockage is left untreated for a few hours, the affected area of the heart can die and lead to detrimental effects.

As is obvious in the definition, it is life threatening. More than a million people in the USA alone suffer from a heart attack every year, and about half of these patients don't survive. Heart attack is medically known as acute myocardial infarction (AMI), myocardial infarction (MI), coronary thrombosis, coronary occlusion or acute coronary syndrome.

Heart Attack Causes

It happen because of a blood clot impedes the proper flow of blood in the coronary arteries. When the blood becomes unable to reach the area of the heart where it is needed, the area becomes starved from oxygen and will not function properly. If the blockage persists, the cells in the said area can die.

Coronary Artery Disease or CAD is the underlying cause of most heart attacks. This condition is characterized by the narrowing down of arteries coupled with the build-up of plaque deposits on the arterial walls (a condition called atherosclerosis). When the arteries narrow down, blood flow to the heart is reduced. This condition can progress to completely block the artery and the flow of blood altogether.

Some of it can be caused by severe tightening and spasms of the coronary artery, which can also temporarily cut off flow of blood to the heart. These spasms can be caused by:

(1) Emotional stress,

(2) Intake of certain drugs (usually the illegal substances),

(3) Exposure to extremely low temperatures and

(4) Cigarette smoking.

Risk Factors of Heart Attack

There are certain factors, which can make one more likely to develop arterial blockages and blood clots. Risk factors can include:

- Your age. Men over 45 and women over 55 are more likely to develop CAD

- Family history or genetics. You have increased risk if heart disease was diagnosed in an immediate family member who is 55 or younger.

- Personal history. If you are diagnosed to have angina or if you have had a previous heart attack or underwent surgical heart procedure, you are at a higher risk of having a heart attack (again).

You are also more likely to have a heart attack if you are overweight, a smoker, or physically inactive, and if you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, or diabetes.

Blockage of arteries and blood clots that impede proper blood flow from the heart is what causes heart attacks.

There are ways of preventing heart attacks - and you can take steps starting today by talking to your doctor, leading a healthier lifestyle, exercising regularly and maintaining a healthy, balanced diet everyday.

Also talk to your doctor about adding a daily fish oil pill to your balanced diet. Chances are, you don't eat fish on any kind of regular basis and it is lacking in your current diet. Taking fish oil supplements may help remedy this un-balanced part of your heart-smart diet plan.

How is Coronary Artery Disease - Keep Your Heart Healthy

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Causes Cad.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a condition affecting the coronary artery that supplies the heart muscles (Myocardium) with blood for nutrition, and oxygen for carrying away its waste products. CAD occurs when atherosclerosis advances causing "atherosclerotic plaques."

CAD Patients may remain asymptomatic until developing a heart attack or chest pain known as Angina pectoris or angina. The attack is caused by sudden ischemia affecting the heart especially during exercise or with efforts that lead to increased work-load on the heart, thus requiring more blood supply to the myocardium than it is able to provide.

It is All About The Plaque

These plaques are formed of cholesterol and other materials accumulating in the inner wall of the coronary artery. Eventually, these plaques grow in size, blocking the blood supply to the heart and reducing the nutrients and oxygen delivered. This causes accumulation of waste products, giving what is called a state of ischemia to the heart. Ischemia causes weakening, and ultimately death of the heart muscles.

CAD is a leading cause of death in both males and females greater than 20 years of age. In CAD, the ischemia causes damage to the myocardium, according to the degree of occlusion. If these plaques narrow the lumen but allow only minimal blood flow, barely keeping the heart muscle alive, a state of heart muscle weakness occurs leading to heart failure and arrhythmias.

Heart failure means that the heart will not be able to pump adequate blood supply to the body tissues. Arrhythmia refers to abnormal beating rhythms of the heart. Both consequences are potentially fatal, requiring urgent medical and/or surgical intervention. If the plaques cause complete or "almost" complete arterial occlusion, the part of the heart muscle supplied by the occluded artery will eventually die causing what is known as Myocardial Infarction.

Narrowing of the coronary artery will block the blood supply reducing blood flow through the vessel causing severe "crushing" chest pain radiating at times to various areas such as the left shoulder, back, neck, throat and jaw.

Another pathology occurs when the atherosclerotic plaques are big in relation to the lumen diameter, or when the plaques rupture releasing emboli (undissolved foreign bodies) that occlude the coronary artery branches which can involve a main coronary artery. This can result in sudden heart failure and myocardial infarction which is a leading cause of sudden death.

Lifestyles Affect Your Heart

The risk of developing coronary artery disease is increased with age especially when associated with lifestyles that include smoking, and diets consisting of high fat intake. Other medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol levels contribute to the risk of atherosclerotic plaques.

Smoking causes constriction of blood vessels and increased carbon monoxide CO levels, impairing delivery of good oxygenation and nutrition to the tissues.

Obesity, high stress lifestyle and lack of physical exercise or physical inactivity are also risks for developing CAD. People with these risk factors should start diet modification and physical exercise and discuss, with their healthcare professional, the proper tests to evaluate their risk of CAD. Additionally, a family history of CAD means that the patient may be at higher risk to develop CAD sometime in his/her life.

Get Tested Before It Is Too Late

If you have symptoms suggesting CAD, or one of the mentioned risk factors, you should seek medical advice and be sure to discuss this with your physician. According to your history, physical examination, and routine tests (e.g. complete blood picture, cholesterol and homocysteine levels,...etc) your doctor may perform other diagnostic tests such as Electrocardiogram (ECG), Echocardiogram, CT scan and Magnetic resonance.

Treatment of CAD starts with lifestyle modifications such as quitting smoking, controlling stress, consuming a healthy diet and engaging in mild, regular exercise. Depending on the tests results and the severity of the disease, the physician may prescribe a drug treatment or schedule an evaluation with a specialist.

Medical treatment includes different medications such as sublingual nitrate tablets (to be used in case of developing chest discomfort) beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers and cholesterol-modifying medications such as statins, niacin, fibrates and bile acid sequestrants. These will all be prescribed by you primary care provider.

A vascular treatment may be needed to improve the coronary blood flow. This may include angioplasty with stent insertion. If the artery is not able to be opened by stenting, the only option may be coronary artery bypass surgery.

All procedures should be accompanied by strict lifestyle modifications, regular follow up and control of any risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol levels.

Before congestive heart failure (CHF) develops there are individuals that are already considered to be at risk. Some of these individuals fit into the first stage of heart disease though they have never experienced symptoms. These individuals include those that have diabetes, history of alcohol abuse, family history of cardiomyopthy along with a number of other conditions.

These individuals have a higher risk of heart failure compared to those without these conditions. Before the condition develops though there are some specific conditions that often develop in the individual.

In general CHF causes include any condition that damages the heart muscle or inhibits its function. Among these are coronary artery disease, heart attack, cardiomyopathy (in the individual), and conditions that overwork the heart such as (diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, and others). Some birth defects can also by congestive heart failure causes. In a few cases viral infections can cause CHF (Congestive Heart Failure).

Specific medications can also lead to the development of CHF or to the worsening of existing CHF. It is important to consult your doctor before beginning to take any medication if you have existing CHF or if you are at risk of developing CHF. Some of these medications include over the counter medications. Others are prescriptions; as a result your existing medications may need to be changed if you are diagnosed with CHF.

CHF can be treated in most cases. At stage D, the final stage, there remains the possibility for heart transplant in a number of people. Adhering to the treatment plan that you and your doctor develop is a good way to ensure the greatest success from your treatment plan. In some cases these treatment plans may effectively halt the progression of the condition. They can also work to improve the quality of life that you enjoy as well.

How is Congestive Heart Failure In The Elderly

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Causes Chf.

Try to stay calm-learning about your elder's
disease is important but it takes time to
process all the new information and terminology.

Any time a nurse or doctor uses a word that
you do not understand, ask them to explain
its meaning. Learning all about Congestive
Heart Failure is the key to keeping your
family member well.

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) is a very
common disease among the elderly. A
healthy heart can pump blood to all parts
of the body in a few seconds. When the
heart is no longer able to do this, blood
backs up into the lungs and other parts of
the body. This back up of fluid not being
pumped through the body begins to cause
difficulty---such as
Shortness of breath
Swelling in the feet, legs, and hands.

This failure of the heart to pump adequately
can be mild to severe. Controlling the
symptoms of CHF is imperative. Early
treatment prevents hospitalization of the frail
elder. Remember, each hospital stay takes its
toll on the elderly. They experience weight loss
from which they frequently never recoup.
They are left so weakened that they often
cannot walk and need rehabilitation up to
a few weeks--often needing nursing home care.

Many people with CHF have an enlarged heart
from years of having to struggle to pump the
blood. Treatment of the enlarged heart can
improve its pumping action. For most patients
treatment consists of daily medications,rest,
stress reduction,limiting salt intake and
sometimes limiting fluid intake.

The symptoms of CHF are:

Treating Swelling--

TAKE WEIGHT GAIN SERIOUSLY.

Notify the doctor with the above weight gain
or any of the above symptoms. These
symptoms will get worse if ignored and your
elder will risk serious illness probably
resulting in hospitalization.

Medications--It is imperative that medications
be taken as prescribed.
Do Not stop medications without talking to
the doctor.

Avoiding infections and staying healthy help
to keep the heart failure symptoms from
getting worse. Anything like an infection
makes the heart work harder increasing the
strain on the heart. This causes the heart
rate to increase.

If flu like symptoms are present notify the
doctor immediately-- not in a few days--
do it now!!! Try to avoid anyone with cold or
flu symptoms especially during peak flu season.

Ask the doctor about pneumonia and flu vaccine.

CHF is a chronic disability requiring frequent
medical follow up.
Expect to see the doctor often and do not
cancel appointments.

CHF can be fatal if not treated properly.
Treated people can live many years.

The Basics of Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial fibrillation can be a very serious condition which affects how the dissimilar chambers, which make up the heart, all work together. Fortunately, the condition may be mild and the sick person may not suffer from any symptoms or if they have them, they are so mild that they do not create any day-to-day condition issues while for less-mild cases, the condition can be controlled with medication or the use of catheters. In more serious instances where the symptoms are significantly affecting enjoyment of life or less-interventionist treatments have failed or cause undesirable symptoms themselves, then open-heart surgical operation may be essential and desirable to strict the condition. Atrial fibrillation can lead to death so it is foremost to understand what the condition is and how it can be treated.

First of all, let's look at how a healthy heart works.

Symptoms Of Atrial Fibrilation

Picture the heart as two sets of twin chambers sitting on top of each other. The larger chambers are at the top and the smaller chambers are at the bottom - the upper chambers are known as atria (atrium singular) and the lower ones are ventricles. An atrium receives blood into the heart and it has the job of pushing blood into the smaller ventricles which in turn, powerfully ageement to expel the blood from the heart and nearby the body. The lower ventricles will ageement no matter what is happening with the heart's electrical theory but the atrium needs a trigger or pacemaker, to tell it when it has to contract. The electrical signals coordinate the two sets of chambers so the atria are not attempting to force blood into the ventricles when they are not ready to receive it.

The Basics of Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial fibrillation is where the electrical signals which are generated by the heart's natural pacemaker, short circuit and fail to trigger the contractions of the upper chambers of the heart properly. These are atria which is where the "atrial" term comes in - "fibrillation" is a medical term for "fluttering", where the heart contracts in an irregular and ineffective manner. Because the electrical signal is bypassing the atrium it fibrillates and does not ageement when it is supposed to nor effectively when it does. This interrupts the blood supply into the ventricles and subsequently nearby the body.

The symptoms for atrial fibrillation are similar to those for a rapid heart rate - palpitations, intolerance for practice and on occasion, angina as well as shortness of breath. It is not unusual for atrial fibrillation to be diagnosed only after a cardiac event or a stroke and this makes it more foremost for quarterly screenings to be conducted to check for the condition before it becomes a more serious medical issue. Patients with a history of stroke, hypertension, diabetes, rheumatic fever and other cardiac events are all indicators of higher risk categories for susceptibility to atrial fibrillation.

Medical intervention to deal with atrial fibrillation provides a high level of success rate, with many patients bringing the condition under operate without the need for surgery. In those cases where surgical operation is required, success rates are in excess of 80% for the procedure though a pacemaker be need to be fitted.

COPD (Cardio Pulmonary Disease)
Cardio Pulmonary Disease is a serious disease of the lungs and heart and blood stream. COPD causes breathing problems and makes the capillaries ability to put oxygen into the blood stream. The exchange of oxygen and Carbon dioxide in the capillaries is not efficiently exchanged.

CHF
CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) is heart disease. This causes not enough blood to be circulated in the body and also causes the heart tissue to slowly die. It also causes swelling due to the heart not being able to circulate the blood out of the lower extremities properly. This also causes fluid to build up around the heart and can cause heart failure.

Lung and other Cancers
Cancer caused by smoking cigarettes is caused by the carcinogens in cigarettes. Carcinogens are cancer causing agents which are inhaled when smoking cigarettes and also can enter the body when tobacco is smoked in a pipe, cigar or chewed. Mouth Cancer is more likely caused by chewing tobacco than smoking cigarettes, however mouth, throat and stomach cancers can be caused by smoking cigarettes as well. Carcinogens inside of the body can settle anywhere and cause just about any type of cancer.

Asthma, Pneumonia and Emphysema
Asthma is a disease of the lungs in which the bronchial tubes spasm and constrict. This narrowing of the bronchial tubes causes difficulty breathing and lack of oxygen to the body and organs. Asthma also causes the alveoli (the little nodules in the lungs which put oxygen into the blood stream) in the lungs, to become full of mucous and impede their ability to transfer oxygen into the blood stream. Extreme asthma attacks can cause the patient to be intubated to assist breathing. Severe asthma attacks can also cause pneumonia to develop. Pneumonia is fluid in the lungs which causes the lungs not to be able to fill with oxygen because of the fluid in the lungs. During both Asthma attacks and Pneumonia the oxygen levels in the blood stream can be reduced to the point of death. Oxygen levels are monitored carefully during both of these as well.

Asthma and Pneumonia can both be corrected if the patient quits smoking. The damage to lungs can be slowly reversed if caught early enough and the patient quits smoking soon enough. Emphysema is, however, not reversible. Emphysema is permanent damage to the lungs caused by smoking and repetitive Asthma attacks and Pneumonia episodes. This damage is scaring of the lungs, resulting in loss of elasticity of the lungs. Emphysema also causes the loss of elasticity of the lungs, the alveoli in the lungs cannot completely deflate and therefore the patient cannot get enough oxygen into the lungs because of the old air in the lungs. Emphysema also causes difficulty in exhaling completely due to the loss of elasticity of the lung. Old air is then left in the lung and alveoli and make it more difficult for the alveoli to exchange oxygen for the carbon dioxide in the lungs. This causes the rest of the body not to receive adequate oxygen to function. The patient has trouble breathing because of these conditions.

Arterial Sclerosis and Strokes and Blood Clots in body and Lungs
Arterial Sclerosis occurs when the arteries become blocked with fats which then turn into plaque and causes the arteries to harden. This plaque causes the arteries to become blocked and causes the arteries to no longer carry the blood to the various parts of the body. Smoking contributes to Arterial Sclerosis by making the blood more sticky and combines with cholesterols in the blood and turns into plaque. Smoking increases the chances of these plaques building up in arteries, in addition to other contributing factors. These plaques can also break off and become blood clots which completely block the arteries. Blood Clots can also cause strokes. The breaking off of these pieces of plaque and turning into a blood clot can enter a lung or the brain blocking the oxygen rich blood getting where it needs to be for normal function. Blood clots can lodge anywhere in the body and cause swelling and other symptoms based on where the clot lodges. Blood clots in the lungs can also cause death.

These diseases can be avoided. Quit Smoking Today

A general sinus infection can last from ten days to three weeks. A severe sinus disease can go up to three months. There are any symptoms associated with sinusitis. Some of them are low grade fever, headache, jaw pain, facial tenderness and swelling. Bad breath and bad taste are also common in case of sinusitis.

Bad taste is caused due to infected post nasal drip which flows into the mouth through the nasal cavity. The tiny hair like structures called cilia which line the nasal cavity push this mucous into the throat. The mucous is swallowed. The acids in the stomach destroy the harmful bacteria present in the mucous.

Though sinusitis is fairly easy to diagnosis, doctors also prescribe tests like Mri, Ct scan and X-rays to confirm it. The starting of sinus is exactly the same as that of a common cold, but if the cold refuses to go away after five to seven days, a sick person should see the doctor because this could be the starting of a severe sinus disease.

Sinus can be cured by medication. distinct cases of severe sinus disease may also want surgery. Acute sinusitis can also cause temporary blindness, double foresight or blurred vision.

Causes Chf! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Night urination can affect the quality of life. It arises due to a variety of problems, for example, enlargement of the prostate gland, congestive heart failure, kidney failure, etc.

What I said. It is not outcome that the actual about Causes Chf. You read this article for info on that need to know is Causes Chf.

How is Night Urination - Causes and Cures

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Causes Chf.

Night urination is defined as waking up once or more during the night in order to urinate. This is a common phenomenon that affects the quality of life of much of the population and may affect life expectancy. The percentage of those who suffer from night urination fluctuates with increased age. Various surveys found that the incidence ranges from 16-40 percent among those aged 45-40 and 50-90 percent among those aged 80 years or over.

It is also considered a sleep disorder because it is the cause for daytime sleepiness and fatigue, depression and decreased mental ability. As a result, there may be increased morbidity, increased risk of accidents and increased mortality rate that are mainly due to falls and fractures.

In a healthy person, there are daily periodic changes in the production of urine by the kidneys. Daytime urine output is greater than at night.

By definition, increased nocturnal urine output means more than 20 percent of the total output of urine a day. According to some researchers, the production of more than 0.9 to 1.3 cubic centimeters per minute of urine at night is considered increased nighttime output. Patients who sleep six hours a night and their nocturnal urine output is 324 cc or more will be considered as suffering from increased nocturnal urine output, because they produce over 0.9 cc per minute. Healthy people are not supposed to get up at night to urinate.

The widespread public assumption is that excessive night urination is caused solely due to an enlargement of the prostate gland. But the problem may have several other significant reasons. One is a defect in the "anti -night urination" hormone production. This defect can be congenital or acquired. In many cases, it is part of the aging process, because the hormone production decreases with age. Even drinking fluids or alcohol before bed can affect the production of this hormone.

Another reason is the excessive secretion of salts and water by the body or due to congestive heart failure. Congestive heart failure means your heart can not pump blood effectively. As a result, fluids remain in the body, concentrated mainly in the space between lower limbs cells. These fluids cause edema. Edema can disappear in the morning, because when lying the fluid flows back into blood vessels, the heart and, finally, to the kidneys.

Kidney failure, sleep apnea syndrome or venous insufficiency also can cause blood drainage problems from the lower extremities. As a result, the cumulative fluid in the space between the cells is as in congestive heart failure. While you are lying down at night, the fluid is dripping to the veins in the legs and reaches the kidneys. That produces more urine. Lack of estrogens, i.e. female hormones, causes urinary system dysfunction and frequency in day and night urination. Sleep disorders and urinary bladder storage disorders also increase the need for urinating at night.

The best-known problem associated with it is an enlarged prostate which brings about an obstruction in the bladder's output. As a result, defects are created causing the need to urinate frequently day and night. A man with the problems should have a short and simple medical examination, which includes a physical examination, completing a questionnaire about his medical condition (illness, surgery and medications he takes) and, of course, filling in a diary documenting his urination output during a 24 hour period.

Recommendations are given to patients to change their lifestyles, such as raising the legs while lying down or using elastic stockings for patients suffering from edema. These measures improve the vein drainage and reduce edema. Another recommendation is to avoid drinking a lot-especially alcohol, tea and coffee-before going to bed. If the patient suffers from sleep apnea syndrome, using a positive pressure mask improves sleep quality and reduces night urination.

Other means of dealing with the problem are the treatment of diseases such as congestive heart failure, diabetes, situations of an overactive bladder or blockage of the bladder by an enlarged prostate.
